Not what it used to be.
This was not the Hammerite I once knew. It is now an ordinary solvent based paint and putting it on in hot weather caused streaking as it dried too fast. Having said that, I was painting a wrought iron gate and for this, the end result was acceptable. Good news is that brushes clean easily in polycell brush cleaner whereas in the good old days you either threw them away or used Finnigans brush cleaner which cost more than the brush! Perfect for galvanized steel
Don't be put off by crappy tin, a major DIY store have crappier tins on their shelves, painted two sets of caravan steps with two coats and they look great.

Dries very quickly
Never having used this before we didn't realise that in fact it dries enough to smudge within minutes. We used it on garage doors but it was very runny and unless you saw it immediately it dried so quickly you couldn't mop up the drip. The paint also dried on the brush and stiffened it unless you used it continuously. If you do get it right though and can work top speed the coverage is excellent.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
