  • Good & bad points Green guard halter and muzzle.

Good points: Easy for horses to drink and airy in the hot weather. Limits grazing without driving them mad. Bad points: nylon webbing is hard and would benefit from fleece to prevent rubbing. It doesn't have a breakaway, so potentially dangerous. Better instructions for fitting would help, I followed them and looked at the video and yet managed to make a mistake of getting the buckle in the wrong place, resulted in a wound on my hores jaw.

  • Less restricting for horses than a bucket type muzzle

My pony became head shy with a bucket type muzzles after switching to a green guard her the issue of spinning in the stable has resolved after only two days she’s happier which means so am I .

  • not fit for purpose

It was adjusted many times over the 3 days it lasted. My horse could get it off completely and poke his nose through the huge gaps in the basket and eat grass. We even slotted an old throat lash through to try and make the gaps smaller but to no avail. On day 3 he had snapped the straps and split the plastic basket. Total waste of money for the horse with half a brain cell.
