  • A small, worthless booklet

I'm 79 and I've experienced a lot of technology since the '60s. I bought this book because I wanted to reminisce about the technology that I've enjoyed. Aside from audio electronics from the '60s when the '80s arrived they brought a lot of new-fangled stuff such as cordless telephones, 2-piece VCRs (tuner and separate, portable recorder plus a video camera), KAYPRO portable PC, and later 2-lens camcorder, digicams, etc. When I saw the illustration of the book it looked to me to be coffee-table size because the color part of the cover created an illusion that hid its small, square size (6-1/2" square, almost 1/2" thick). What turned me on to the book was a MAX RACKS FREECARDS postcard. It said: Do you remember? Dune Buggy Kits,BSA, Shrinky Dinks, 8 Tracks Players, 3D Glasses, Slinky, ... You can find these and thousands of other items in this colorful third book on nostalgia. ..." Bulls__t! There's nothing aside from a few illustrations with no explanations or history. What it does contain page after page is simple one-line MENTION of the objects they don't show. Stay away from this ripoff
