It's a mobile sound solution that will make your music sound good, even when you are on the go.The Rockford P300-12 Punch woofer with a 300-watt amp is loaded with features you’ll enjoy. It has an intelligent automatic turn on/off function with three settings. The auto-switched on/off function has DC offset, REM (+12V), and audio modes. The phase switch toggles the output phase from 0 degrees to 180 degrees. The input level switches correspond with either hi-level or low-level source outputs. Gain control and bass control put dominance over the tone in your hands. The adjustable gain control comes preset for a typical source output to provide easy plug-and-play capability. The bass control is variable from 0 decibels to over 12 decibels at 45Hz. A remote allows you to control these functions from the front seat of your car.In case you decide to install the powered woofer in the cargo area or trunk of your car, you won’t have to worry about bumps and scrapes; the durable exterior will protect your purchase as you drive. The unit has a 5/8-inch medium-density fiberboard enclosure. This box is covered by an exterior layer of industrial heat-activated vinyl that protects it. Plus, to help this unit last longer, there is built-in thermal and over-voltage protection. The green LED light will turn red when there is an electrical problem or an input problem, and the amplifier will automatically turn off.The unit arrives with an RCA/speaker harness, a connector, and a remote. In addition to these accessories, there is an owner’s manual that contains instructions for easy installation and proper care. Gather together a few tools, the necessary wires, a fuse with fuse holder, and some connectors. With these and the handy instructions, you will have the device installed in no time. The included connector makes it quick and easy to hook this unit up. The sound system accessory can accommodate either hi-level or low-level input. The power, ground, and remote hookups are all set-screw wire connectors. The first two hookups accommodate 4AWG, and the remote hookup accommodates 8AWG. The Rockford Fosgate electronics unit is about 15 inches high by 20 inches wide. It is 11 inches deep at the bottom and 7 inches deep at the top. It has a frequency response rate of 35Hz to 150Hz. A built-in 12dB/octave Butterworth filter has a crossover point variable that ranges from 50Hz to 200Hz. The closed-loop design and sealed enclosure of the P300-12 subwoofer help to facilitate optimum audio performance. Big bass for a low price.
This is a very nice powered subwoofer. I owned this model before, and I liked it very much. I ended up selling that one when I sold my car. That was a few years ago. Missing that bass in my current car, I ended up buying an Alpine PWA-S10V. While it was a nice powered subwoofer setup, it didn't fulfill my needs. Plus, the amp is advertised as 250 watt RMS @ 2 ohms, but the sub was a 4 ohm sub. So, the amp was only producing 150 watts. Stupid of Alpine not to match that amp with a 2 ohm sub. So, I ended up buying another RF P300-12. It did not disappoint. Gave me what I was looking for and then some. This sub hits for the type of music I listen to, everything from modern rock, classic rock, classical, old school rap and some modern rap. I will admit this doesn't get that super low bass found on some rap songs since it's a sealed enclosure, but it does quite well for most of my music. I do have plans of replacing this with a custom setup when the weather gets warmer. For now, this will satisfy my bass needs.

Sounds Great Until It Goes Haywire
This subwoofer has an switch that allows you to select auto power off when it does not sense signal on coming from the factory car stereo. I purchased this subwoofer for that specific feature. One less wire to run is a great option. I ran all the wires, reassembled my car's interior. The subwoofer sounded great for a coule of trips around town. Then I returned home and turned off my car, the sub started humming/resonating extremely loud. If it would have been night time I would have woken my neighbors. I called Rockford Fosgate tech support and was told the auto sensing feature does not work well and I can return the subwooder if needed. What the Hell?!? After I've purchased the subwoofer and wired everything, they just expect me to return the sub?!? I will be contacting Rockford Fosgate again to complain. Very very good on a 1997 cherokee.
This thing sounds incredible. i spend a lot of time researching for a good subwoofer with built in amp, and bought a planet audio p8 something rated at 800 watt and 300 watt rms, and its a piece of junk. This Rockford fosgate is without questions one of the best subwoofer. and for the price, believe me, is worth it. Very easy to install. Quality Sound
I bought this because it had good reviews, was priced under $200, had 300 Watts RMS and was self contained. I added it along side a 400w 4 channel amp powering my 4 cabin speakers with a capacitor to keep it all smooth. I am thoroughly impressed. Being a sealed box, it has clean deep booms at all volume levels. Now that I've heard it, I want more power...but this is my wife's car. So it does just fine for her. It really compliments the overall harmony of the cabin speakers and fills the whole car with that wonder clean boom. Had a little trouble setting the gain, but after tripping the internal thermal shut off and letting it cool off and reset, everything worked out. This speaker works perfectly for a slightly modified system with little extra work to install. You do have to have adequate power I ran 4 awg @ 20 ft run, including ground length, for trunk install, and ground along with an optional trigger wire (unless you want to switch it to constant on or audio signal on). Be sure to properly fuse it. YouTube it if you do not know what size and locations to install them. I highly recommend it for any beginner to average Joe.

Out of all the subwoofers I have had this has the best bass and is much easier to install (ran it off the 6 by 9 speakers in the rear) than some other models which would have required a new CD player that wouldn’t have even gone in my Jetta because the Jetta has a certain type of CD player that can’t be replaced. This model doesn’t need a remote wire install it just goes on when audio is playing. It plays all genres with loud bass!!! The best single amplified sub box on a budget
Wow!! I cannot ask for a better amplified sub box for the great price. It didn’t take more than an hour or 2, to install, and can play just about any genre of music. The wired remote makes it so much easier to tune, especially between music type choices! Rockford Fosgate did a great service again in making this great amplified sub box package! Perfect all in one solution
I’ve been into car audio for over two decades, have done massive installs and pure sound quality. Now in my 40s, wanted a little deeper end sound to add to my stock system, and this was the perfect addition. Easy to install, very compact (important for me to keep as much trunk space as possible), and frankly sounds really good. "Punch" 4 your buck
The only "bang" is the outstanding spot on sound quality. Well worth the money. Quick and easy to install. The longest part of the install was running wires properly. Fits beautifully behind the driver seat in my '15 Ram Express quad cab. 👌 So if you're looking for some bass "punch" to your music, this is the perfect sub setup. 👍👍
