Useful set where no other tool will quite work. Box spanners have largely died out in favour of ratchet operated sockets, but there are a few jobs where even the deepest socket is still too short. Such a job is tightening (and undoing) the long brass hex nut used to secure the yoke on kitchen sink mixer taps. There is no room to use a spanner and you need something that will work in the gap between double basins in many cases with sufficient depth for the M8 stud to pass down inside it as you tighten. Because these are double ended, if greater reach is necessary you could even weld a 13mm nut to a steel bar and use the bar to drive it from the other end of the spanner.

would have been better if it included a good fitting 10mm.

After struggling with a ring and an adjustable spanner without much success to tighten a 9mm mixer tap back nut with the tap already in situ, finally admitted defeat and purchased this wrench set. Should have done this in the first place the job was done in minutes and the tap hasn't moved since. For the price and the job I bought it I for consider this to be an excellent purchase.

I needed a box spanner tool (12mm) to reach down to release the locking plate on my Kia Ceed battery. It is difficult to reach, but with this box spanner locating on the bolt head it became a simple job, the spanners were good quality and a good price.
