Works when others didn’t.
I purchased other low cost converters and had all sorts of problems ranging from incorrect scale to lines and flickering displays. Sometimes they worked intermittently. Would get different problems depending on computer and display combinations. I wasted a lot of time and money, messing about with graphics drivers, displays etc. However, these Startech ones (have purchased quit a few now) have all worked great, the only problem I have experienced is when an old projector was connected; The auto detected refresh rate was to high (something all adapters I have tried have done but only when used with the said projector) once the refresh rate was set to 60Hz (Win 10 advanced display settings ) all worked great. I tried these Startech adapters after seeing they were certified on DisplayPort,org website - A computer engineer recommended I only purchase DP equipment they have certified.
