About this product

Product Information

At home under the Art category, this high-performance standard lens is designed exclusively for mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras and has the equivalent angle of view as 120mm on the Micro Four Thirds system and 90mm on the E-mount system (35mm equivalent focal length. This lens features SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass, which helps minimize axial and transverse chromatic aberration. Glass mold aspherical lenses help minimize coma. Optimized power distribution helps ensure exceptional image quality from the center to the edges of the images. In addition, the inner focusing system corrects the fluctuation of aberration to maintain image quality regardless of the focusing position. The superior telecentric optical design improves the image quality throughout the frame. The optical design also allows the lens to be compact and lightweight. This lens benefits from a newly developed linear AF motor, which moves the lens elements directly without the need for gears or the drive of other mechanical parts. This system ensures accurate and quiet autofocusing, making the lens suitable for video recording as well as still photos. The lens features a rounded 7-blade diaphragm creating an attractive blur to the out of focus areas of the image. This Sigma 60mm F2.8 DN has a minimum focusing distance of 50cm/19.7in and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:7.2, and comes in either a silver or black finish. With their compact bodies and a diverse range of design, mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras have been evolving in their own unique way. To achieve a lens system corresponding to the cameras of the new era ? shaped by such thoughts, the high- performance mid-range telephoto lens for mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras offers Sigma's original innovation in a form that is more polished and refined than ever before.

  • Everything they say about this lens it true!

The Sigma 60MM F2.8 DN art for Sony E mount is one of the lenses that is brought up when talking about the best lens for the best price. I am using as a camera the Sony A6300. The price of this lens is incredible for the IQ and sharpness that it has. I compared it to a few Zeiss lenses and found that for the whole lot of more money that the Zeiss requires to get into my camera bag, the Sigma 60 is by far a better deal. Comparing images with the Zeiss lenses (three of them), I found that the Sigma 60 was as sharp as and sometimes sharper overall than all three of the Zeiss lenses. Distortion of the Sigma 60 was slight. The Sigma lenses do not have image stabilization and that is OK for me......I use as a video lens a 55-210 Sony lens with Optical Stabilization System (OSS). I own all three of the Sigma prime lenses.....the 60, the 30 and the 19. The 60 and 30 are the art lenses and the 19, which is also an art lens will be replaced by an older 19 that has the rubber focus ring. I would highly recommend all three of the prime Sigma lenses. The 19, 30 and 60 are inexpensive top of the line in quality lenses that are very sharp and have excellent Image Quality. You cannot go wrong with any of them.

  • Sigma is the new CANON!!!!

Just got and attached this Sigma lens. The pictures are sharp enough to cut a steak and the color is beautiful on my fabulous Sony a6000. The focal length is 1.5 cropped on the a6000 so the real reach is 90 mm and perfect for portraits and even landscapes, weddings, etc......This little doll-face at 2.8 and with "Sony" fast focusing is the new big thing in affordable feature packed mirrorless cameras. Go buy 2 and give one to your Sony loving friends today!!!!!

  • A compact powerhouse

The good is that the image is exceptionally sharp, the lens is compact, and light. This is the sharpest lens I own out of some very high quality lenses. The bokeh is very creamy and easy to create. For the money this is recommended. It's a good lens to have in your bag if your a street photographer. The cons are that for hand held photography in low light you will have to set the shutter speed very slow. At least 1/30 second or less depending. That means steady hands. Still very useable, it's just not a night lens at f/2.8

  • Small, lightweight, excellent images

The Sony mirrorless camera kit lens is great for traveling light, but if you want the most out of your 24 megapixel sensor you'll need to upgrade to better lenses. The Sigma 60mm is a very well rated e-mount lenses from Sigma delivering superb image quality in what is still a fairly compact form. Beware, though, there is no image stabilization built into this lens, which means being more conscious of your shutter speed/ISO/f-stop settings. Also, the Sigma e-mount lens all have a rattle when turned off, but that disappears when the lenses are in use.

  • Great image quality and auto focusing!

This camera is really outstanding when it comes to it's image quality and auto focusing. A great lens to start off with at a very reasonable price.

  • Nice prime lens at a reasonable cost.

Just right for a prime lens, on my a6000, it gives about a 90 mm image. Should work out well for some portraits.

  • used but works fine

Well, this is the original SIGMA ART series lens, what else to say? The lens is fine, as advertised. The only reason I take a star off is that the lens hood is loose and falls off easily. Probably from constant use...
