I've been making knives in my spare time for over 30 years. If you type my name in as: Martin Atton knives, on Google, you should come up with plenty of pictures of my work and articles about knives I have written. I used to use exotic woods for my knife handles, but in recent years have been using "Tufnol", and more recently "Micarta", to handle up my creations. These knives are mostly made from circular saw blade material and I do all, the cutting, grinding and heat treatment here at home. I know that this Micarta will produce a strong stable handle and the layers of the material weave will make for an interesting visual effect when it has been sanded and polished into the finished handle shape.

This is very nice, fairly easy to work, heavy dense wood with a good contrasting grain. Whilst not strictly speaking book matched, the scales are well made with obvious attention being paid to matching the scale grains as much as possible. Highly recommended.

Arrived promptly, no chips, splits or knots which affect the integrity. The surface itself is very rough from the saw marks, but these will come off with the sanding and shaping anyways.

Great value for money, easy to shape giving many unique designs, polishes up to a smooth lustre and enhances the blade it’s fitted to. 👍 😷🏍💨🏍💨
