Great for the job
I had previously used a zipper foot when making piping. My new Sewing machine didnt come with a zipper or piping foot so I decided to buy one for the purpose. I used with 5mm piping and it was a bit of a struggle getting the piping under the foot so I would recommend it might be better with finer piping (though it could be just my sewing machine).
