    Superb movie

    A superb movie vividly depicting the racism of the Deep South in the 1960s. Stunning performances by all involved, and an excellent musical score combine to provide near perfection. I had already seen this film more than once, but enjoyed it immensely, even though I knew what was about to happen in it. Rivetting entertainment, and a cinematic tour de force.

    Wonderful, wonderful film!!!

    One of the best films ever made with the wonderful Sydney Poitier and Rod Steiger. From the start right to the end a roller coaster ride . Exceptionally gripping but with some really funny episodes. If you have never seen this fil you are in for a real cinematic treat. Personally I have seen this film about 6 times and could watch it again tomorrow. Never tire of the acting but lost it over the years thus my recent purchase.

    A heat worth sharing

    I was surprised at how well this film has stood the test of time. Although released in 1967 it remains sharp in both sound and vision. If its age was not betrayed by the younger appearance of the main characters, so well portrayed by Rod Steiger and Sidney Poitier, it could have been made last year rather than 5 decades ago. The locations used appear to be authentic, and the sultry heat permeated the duration of the film. The message is, unfortunately, still very relevant which enhances the film's importance to new generations.
