Waiting to watch

Great series. Unbelievable price!
Bought the series after watching Pillars of The Earth. Having read the books many times I was pleased that they were so cheap to buy. Very far from the books the story never the less was entertaining and the characters engaging. A highly enjoyable series - yet it is immediately apparent that the characters are far, far less developed than in the book. It is a pity that the story line and the people who inhabit it have been so simplified - I only hope that Ken Follett was not disapointed with the flattened result. Realistic history
Although there is a fair amount of violence the story demonstrates the complexity of history. Families fight for the right to be kings and this series allows you to see those struggles in a 'warts and all ' rollercoaster ride.
