Good name, poor sound, poor reliability
Bought this as a bargain fixer upper. repaired it ( internal voltage regulator u/s) but was taken aback by the reports of failures on the www due to various components. Sound wise, I can't understand how this gets 5* in reviews. The sound is not open, and the digital surround sound option just makes it worse. Delay on Bluetooth music play for a fraction of a second at the start of a track is sooo annoying. Treble was very poor, I had to change the tweeter speakers for a pair of piezo tweeters. This brightened it up considerably. Connection to tv produced an annoying experience. The sound seemed disconnected from what was happening on the video. Bass was variable according to the individual broadcaster...too much....then not enough.... Glad I only paid less than thirty quid for this. If I had paid just under five hundred quid when it first came out I would have been VERY disappointed. Can't use it with my TV as it is so annoying (except for watching the music channels) Will be just using it as a Bluetooth amp with the music files on my phone. Sorry JBL, it's just a synthetic sound. Not clear detailed and open. What's going on with the digital signal processing? Reportedly unreliable too.Verified purchase: Yes
