ReviewsVillage Voice - This is squirmy, hilarious fun., The Playlist - With its tongue placed firmly in cheek (it is, after all, called BIG ASS SPIDER), it delivers on a whole bunch of laughs and thrills, in a way that some big budget spectaculars can't even muster.
I can honestly say - as B Movies go - this should not be in the 'B Movie' category. To me, it wasn't anything like I expected, with these 'creature/monster' films you think you have seen it all in all of them - WRONG!! - watch this one and you will see where I am coming from. The effects were outstanding, the story was pretty much what you would expect it to be, but, the sheer creepy, shiver down your spine, terrifying way the film makers have done this 'beast' on screen is way beyond anything I have ever seen before - I am not joking when I say this!! It is definitely an arachnophobia's nightmare. All in all - an amazing film, quirky cast, some really good funny moments, a few jumpy bits in it. But, for me an absolute winner!!!
