Been meaning to get one for years, and the price has dropped so far they are now a off the cuff purchase. Have flattened a lot of cans, from Red Bull to John Smiths. Not solid enough for food cans, but that was expected. Saves a lot of space in the recycling bin. Don't believe the ancient headlines saying crushed cans are difficult to recycle - it's nonsense. I've found a fast squash is better than a slow one, as the slow ones can eject the can out sideways!

This is great for crushing cans for recycling, It is the second one of these that I have had. The first lasted about 3 years before the arms bent out of shape and it started to fall apart. The weakness is in the Arm mechanism material which is not strong enough. Having said that, with careful use it crushes most cans with ease. Put your can on the shelf and press it against the back panel with enough force to create a dint in the can then bring the top plate down with the handle and the can crushes. Watch out for heavier gauge cans as that is when the arms can get bent with the extra force needed. Over all, for the price you pay, its worth it.

Quick and easy to pull the lever to crush your cans freeing up room in your recycle bin only down side is you need to use different screws and plugs as they aren't robust enough supplied to the force to pull the lever down

There's only one flaw with the can crusher which a minor redesign would fix. It needs a lip or something added to the bottom part where the can sits to stop it shooting out when the handle is pulled down. You could hold it in with your finger, but there's the risk of cutting yourself when the can starts collapsing. Apart from that, it does a good job.
