Expensive Table Salt - Nothing More, Nothing Less
Admittedly I got reeled in by the whole organic, mineral salt thing. Like most of us have done at times. Once we hear "organic" and "trace minerals" I thought "this product could produce health benefits". After doing some research...
I was incorrect. I was duped. The packaging claims the product contains 84 naturally occurring trace metals. Where are the nutrient reference values (%NRV) for this product? Nowhere to be found on the packaging. So that claim is erroneous for a start. If it did contain those minerals? They would have to be included on the packaging by law. As an overdose of said nutrients, would be a bit of a problem for the manufacturer.
While I could agree this is genuine, bonefide Himalayian salt, chemically? It's just table salt. Or so similar in chemical composition, it may as well be table salt.
Bottom line is don't be fooled by organic and natural health food claims. Salt is salt. Unless it explicitly states it is reduced sodium salt, for example, it's just regular salt. Even that is salt in it's own right but it's the sodium that causes high blood pressure and other health concerns. Water retention, strokes etc.
Oh well, at least it's pink! 😂 We can agree on that.
