This is a great tool for spliting blocks; I had thought of buying a large axe with weighted head for this job but no need this tool is more efficient and less risk of inguries. I use it with a "lump hammer" perfect combination. Has split all I have required to date ...... highly recomend

This piece of old school tec works amazingly well. I was initially doubtful it would be up to the job of splitting large tree rounds about 18inches in height and diameter. However my doubts were short lived. A couple of taps to set it in place then followed by swings of the sledge hammer made short work of the task. Once the log starts splitting it just falls apart and I was splitting newly felled timber that was very sappy.on smaller although taller logs they split with ease. My only comment is that splitting logs into four was never achieved so I split in half then in halves again should it be needed. I can’t wait to try it on dry logs, should work a treat. I would recommend this product if you have logs too big to split with an axe.

Boguht to replace the one that I'be been borrowing for a while - knots and brnaches are hard work but it splits a simple ring sliced from a trunk very effectively up to 1m/3' deep with surprisingly modests effort. The sharp end seems to be hard - the previous one by the same manufacturer works well even though I've bashed it into concrete once or twice (over doing splitting a log). The blunt end is tough - it has dings and dents from many blows with the sledge hammer but shows no signs of giving in.

I checked this out on YouTube tests and then bought it. I’ve used it over many days and am very impressed. It just does the job very efficiently with my sledgehammer. Far better than a conventional chisel which is just too blunt.

I am most impressed with the power of this device and the size of logs it can take on. I've yet to fail to split oak logs over 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet long. No one with logs to split regularly should be without one. Nothing but praise.
