I wanted some rear lighting on my 420 BMW, that would be permanently on, along with the front factory DRL lights. I find the Auto lights on the car only really come on when it’s quite dark, and that made me feel unhappy the rear was never illuminated, and the front had these bright daytime lights. So I bought these, naturally they’re a bit fiddly to pop the old ones out and then bring the wires up to the nearest wires to splice to, but I managed to screw driver the old reflectors out, with a little force and protection around the bumper bits, removed the rear side lights, dropped a piece of old wire or string down the gap in the bumper between lights and reflector area... made a small hook with an Allen key taped to the end of a screw driver, to catch the string and fish it through the reflector hole... tape the wire on the new led reflector to the string and pull it up through to the rear light area! The new reflector clipped in to the original holes nicely and no holes were needed to be made either for the led wires. Because I couldn’t find a live wire with the ignition, in the rear area, and it was likely to start raining, I decided to just wire into the side lights. If I was a more advanced electrician, I’d have spent more time trying to find a constant live wire, but I’ve settled on them coming on with the main lights. So not exactly done what I wanted, perhaps I will when I’ve got more time. They do look good though, and you can splice into the brake light too, as there is 2 brightness levels. I have kept mine purely as side lights. A good addition and subtle upgrade to my car... took me an hour to fit but I’m pleased.Read full review
