Very good flat headphones with true low end.
Comfortable with great low end response. Not augmented bass, just true bass down to the low freqs. Good for old ears that want to hear the bass without drowning out the highs. Great Sound
The HD 429S are my first Sennheiser headphones I ever bought. I have a bighead and they fit great, don't hurt my ears. The cups fit gently over my ears. The cord is not LONG like other headphones I have owned in the past. These headphones have a single cord attached that is 12 inches long, Then a 2nd cord that attaches "The Remote/Calls cord" that is 37 1/2 inches long. Then there is also a tiny cord that is 3 3/4 inches long that is Required for selected smartphones (if needed) I read from other reviews that the cord was flimsy, but I do not think so. Someone really would have to yank on them to break. These headphones have a nice Clear sound, NOT to Bassy, but has the bass when it needs to be heard in a song. The Highs , Lows ,and vocals are great. I use these on my Galaxy S6, I recommend before first using headphones on the phone go to the Music settings-Go to- Sound Alive setting-go to-Sound quality and effects setting to set up these headphones. On my Galaxy S6 I can turn the volume all the way up with these headphones on with out it hurting my ears, I can just imagine how great they would sound connected to a Home amplified home HiFi stereo. I'm a 50 year old male if I had a higher priced set of headphones it probably wouldn't make a difference to me, so I would defiantly recommend these headphone to someone in my age group that enjoys Easy Listening, R&B, Classical, and good old Rock and Roll. The person that wants the THUMP and Heavy BOOM BOOM Bass I would not recommend these headphones to you. My main purpose for these headphones is to listen to Music, I have not tried the Mic yet for phone calls, so I'm not going to review on that.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great headphones...need external amp to push the bass.
Let me first start with the construction of these headphones: well constructed, appeared to be durable, very light, and comfortable. Next, let's head to the sound department.I'm currently using Fii0 A3 external amp with these headphones. I'm amazed by the clarity of the high and mid. The bass is lacking; however, the external amp will help bring it out. Well, I preferred high and mid anyways...If you listen to dubstep and hip-hop with heavy bass, these headphones are not for you. Sennheiser Quality at an affordable price
When the folks over at Head-Fi mentioned this headset was on sale for under $30 I jumped at it. Nice Clear Sound and includes a mic so it can also be used for hands free use with a phone or even for Gaming with the Sony Playstation 4. Recommend wearing a hat/cap for zero pressure
