    Works well, but with limitations

This antenna does work very well, but has its limitations. Windows 10 does not work with this unit, so my newer laptop is out. My old desk top with Vista does just fine. If you have a wifi card in your computer, you have to disable it. Not a big deal, but something to consider. I went from 4 hot spots with mediocre reception to over 25, with 6 of them at a full 5 bars. The public spot I was aiming for is one of those 6. I was surprised at how well this works. Keep in mind, I did mount it on an antenna mast about 12' above ground. It will still work indoors, but with only about half of the 25 spots I get on the mast. I also put a TV antenna up and eliminated my cable bill as well: Very happy to save $120 a month between the two. Living cheap is good!

    Faulty Install Program

I bought this because I live on a boat and am just out of reach of some public wifi. Originally I intended to use this with a chromebook. My mistake that I did not notice the specs specified windows. I tried to contact the seller to see if there was any compatibility with google os. No answer. When I received the antennae and noticed it required a cd drive to install the software I knew the chromebook was not gonna work. I hooked up the antennae to USB anyway, nothing. Since I was determined to use this antennae, I bought a pc with windows8 and a cd drive. Now everything should work. The software loaded just fine but would never open. I tried multiple times and used all the tricks to insure a smooth download of the cd. It would never open, appeared in my programs but would not respond. I tried plugging in the antennae but no improvement in my signal. A complete failure. Avoid this product!

  • Good, effective antenna

It truly works and works well. It is very difficult to remove the base from the antenna post. I feared I would break it it my efforts and did mar the plastic in that attachment, but found that one side was partially defective with part of the connector piece gone and so I could finally get it apart on that side first. That aspect of the design needs to be improved. Also it would be better if the cable could be snapped on and off so that it could be threaded through a wall in either direction and then reattached to the antenna itself. It worked ok (4 bars of reception strength) in my bedroom at the window "reaching" around the corner of the house to the signal or through the wall and the attic and roof, but works MUCH better (5 bars of reception strength) placed inside the attic aimed straight at the signal, and only radiating directly through the roof and no additional wall(s). There are five bars to depict signal reception strength, which is actually misleading. With only three or fewer bars, reception does not succeed. Four or five bars are required for reception to succeed.

  • Another piece of Chinese junk.

This was the 3rd wifi antenna I purchased. The reviews made this thing sound like it actually worked... it doesn't. All this is, is a cheap plastic box with a thin piece of thin sheet metal in it. I took it apart to see how it was made, I literally laughed out loud, then promptly returned the item. I'd advise against buying this. I ended up purchasing an outdoor Yagi antenna with an Alpha adapter. Works great. Now I'm pulling in all kinds of usable signals from around my neighborhood within a half mile radius.

  • It's products like this that make people scared to buy on eBay

I don't normally write product reviews but in this case I feel it is necessary so that other customers don't waste their time and money. I ordered this hoping that it would be an acceptable substitute for more expensive wi-fi boosters, but was extremely disappointed. The antenna did absolutely nothing to boost a Wi-Fi signal about 100 feet from my smart TV. I would give it zero stars if I had the option.

  • Might work for you.

Didn't work on my newest computer, which was I bought it for. Seems to work on an older one, but not faster. And it didn't pick up extra signals, though I am quite sure they are around. I will keep it, in case I might ever be able to use it in the future. I do get tired of the installation discs and especially the cords.

  • Good product would use again but has conflicts with win 10

windows 10 has a glitch with this setup....cuts off and on intermittently loses signal after 10 minutes, and cuts back on. works fine with windows 7 & 8

  • Great product

I was skeptical of this when I bought this, however, it really works. I have a building about 500 feet from my house and only got 2 bars with the yagi antenna I used before and it was very directional and the weather really screwed it up. Now I get all 5 bars and excellent signal from this unit. I would highly recommend it.

  • It works Great!

It works great...I am only concerned that it does not SAY it works with windows 10, so I stayed on windows 7. I really thought we were going to have to cut tree limbs, drill holes , ect. to mount it , but we just put it in the window and IT WORKED GREAT.....BUT....you cannot use it with two computers. I plan on buying another for the other computer because it works so well.....THANKS!!! Claudette Schady
