Cold Steels Finest
I've had my eye on the Espada for years. After much wrestling with conscience I decided to finally treat myself. No regrets, this is as fine a knife as any I've seen through the years. I have many Benchmade, Microtech, Kershaw, Buck and others so I definitely recognize quality. This CS Espada rates with the best in my opinion (by no means humble). It's certainly large yet rides comfortably in pocket with standard pocketclip. The Demko thumb plate is slick and effective with just a bit of practise. I've carried the CS Spartan for years so I was accustom to this fashion of quick opening. This is certainly not a blade for the meek, but is definitely impressive with the build to support its aggressive appearance. Great knife that needs Improvements!
It is a Beautiful knife and razor sharp out of the box. That said I can't believe the cheap cardboard box it came in for the price it should have been classier ! There was no lanyard hole ,A big minus! The knife was for right hand carry only ,Another big Minus. Cold steel needs to take everybody into consideration when making a Knife ! Strikes like a snake!
The folks that sell this knife are missing an opportunity. The knife is really great and well made but to me the biggest selling point is the fact that it automatically opens itself as u pull it out of ur pocket. The thumb catch on the blade hangs up as you pull the knife out of ur pocket. If you've watched a snake strike ....well, it's that fast or faster!!!!!!
