One of gaming's most iconic first-person shooters returns as players once again assume the role of Captain B.J. Blazkowicz and battle the brutal Nazi menace in Wolfenstein: The New Order. Having spent more than a decade suffering from amnesia in an asylum, Blazkowicz escapes into 1960s Europe only to find a world where the Nazis won WWII and now control the entire globe. The action finds gamers embarking on a nearly impossible mission to infiltrate the Nazi compound Deathshead, and battling robots and giant super soldiers on a trek to take down General Wilhelm Strasse.<br><br>Unlike most contemporary first-person shooters, The New Order doesn't let players recover health simply by avoiding combat for a few moments. Health regenerates in small segments, and gamers must use a cover and lean mechanic to avoid taking too much damage, while locating health or armor to fully recover. Players can acquire armor by killing Nazis and then taking their helmets or by destroying robot dogs and using the leftover parts, and they can even eat dog food to increase their health. There are also number of perk trees that reward gamers with upgrades and new abilities depending on the way they engage in combat.Product Identifiers

Eh..."Them darn Nazis are up to it again...and again" Not the immersive experience I've come to know from Id Software...
I'd have to say, I was expecting more of the original Wolfenstein, or perhaps some Doom elements. Although this is not a horrible game, it appears to be made for the masses. If you like crappie CGI Hollywood blockbusters, this game has a ton of cinema, some of which you are forced to watch. It is a pointless and overdone story, and looks more like an attempt to show off the talent of the graphics team. Pointless and unnecessary. We get it!... Them Nazis are bad, bad, bad, and are... (once again) up to no good....no generic and lengthy movie necessary, just lemme shoot...! It is not a horrible shooter. Its very noticeable handicap is that it has absolutely no immersion factor, or atmosphere whatsoever. It is a fairly well crafted shooter that is in fact, quite boring and unoriginal. I'm not an "Id" software fanclub member, but I expected much more. Like the other reviewer said, it is a game that is easy to shelf, and uninspiring to return to. If you are looking for a Half Life 2, Doom, or Borderlands 2 experience, this will most likely disappoint. Nice idea...poorly executed. Suggestion: Try the Orange Box, or the Doom BFG edition, if you want endless value and a fine shooters that you can totally get lost in when the lights are off. Maybe...
