It's a Nikon... Nothing at this price compares.
I purchased this scope to mount on a Ruger 10/22 carbine I have had for many years. It has always been a valued, albeit utilitarian rifle, used with the stock iron sights. After watching a few hunting videos featuring some pretty precise shooting, I thought it time to make this utility tool a real shooter. After some research, and due to a lot of experience with Nikon's camera equipment, I settled on this as the scope of choice for several reasons:
1. The focal range was wide at 3 to 9 X
2. I knew the glass would be of high quality, and fog free
3. It is purpose made for rimfire rifles
4. The BDC reticle had the exact ranges I wanted; 50/75/100/125/150 yds
5. It was 5 or near stars everywhere I checked
I mounted it to my rifle using the Nikon 1" mounts in just a few minutes, and it looked quite good on the stainless rifle. I took it to the range and it showed me a lot! First, it is very clear. The additional sighting dots are the outline "look-through" variety, which really helps on precision placement. And the BDC reticle is accurate, translating a 50 yard zero easily onto 100 yard targets. The next thing it showed me is how truly bad the Ruger stock trigger is! The trigger, not the scope, was the limiting factor in accuracy. I purchased a Ruger BX drop in trigger, which cut the pull AT LEAST to a third of what it was, and broke much more cleanly. This allowed me to get "connect the holes" grouping on targets.
I'm impressed! Quite pleased with the scope. I don't believe anything in this price range can touch it.
