Akro-Mills parts drawer review and darn well worth the money.
Around 30 years ago, Akro-Mills USED TO make their boxes with metal, but have since gone to plastic. I've got something like 4 of their much smaller boxes, ones I bought around 1980-1981. Used them to store hobby tools/supplies, then D&D figures. The lady who DM'd our games, had 4 of these size boxes, but she modified them by adding 2 hinges to the back and a latch on the front, with a piece of foam between them when they were closed. She'd put her 4 boxes and everything else in her little red wagon and with the boxes unlatched, she had a kind of wall that she could look over, but no one could see what was coming our way. I've also bought 2 other types of Akro-Mills parts boxes and they're ALL the same height, etc. ONLY difference is the size of the parts drawers. Got back into modeling (zombie/apocalypse) and will be using them store various things other than modeling tools. Like weapons, support equipment, etc. Will label each drawer to stop fumbling around looking for a particular something. As you might tell, I most heartily recommend their parts drawers.....which is why I now own 6 of them, of 3 different types. Disappointed
After seeing some good reviews I really expected more. The whole unit is rather flimsy. The drawers have minimum amount of support. I thought it world be more solid. Also, mine had obviously been stored for some time on its side in a hot location as all the drawers were mis-shapen. I thought about returning it, but instead i filled each drawer with hot water and that helped. I had to repeat the process several times before the settled down and actually fit properly. strong roomy and durable!
I've had quite a few of these over the years, this is by far the best! drawers are large and roomy, and their made from a poly type plastic so they aren't hard and brittle.If you drop on the 'crete it won't break! there are large corner gussets on the housing to facilitate hanging. Normally I build a small shelf for mine then fasten it to the wall. Anyone who tinkers or uses a lot of hardware, or just need to organize some stuff should get one of these. Solid with a more affordable price.
Solid organizer with slightly lower profile than my previous organizers. I also liked the smaller drawer stop tabs that stop the trays from falling out. Great storage unit
Nice product for storing lots of things, I like the fact that labels can be printed and placed on front to located parts quickly, can read them better because can make labels bigger because all the drawers are the same size and they all fit, with the smaller drawers you have to make the labels much smaller which is harder to read from a distance, comes with a few dividers on the back, could be more of those would be niceVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not perfect yet useful
This cabinet is good for sorting and storage. Has cheap construction, but its really practical and affordable. Only flaw is the little "stops" that hold each tray/drawer from going all the way out; those break easily, sometimes during shipment.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
