Pleasantly surprised
After doing a lot of research, I decided to purchase the HSI Professional 1 inch cermaic tourmaline ionic flat iron hair straightener....and I am sooooo glad I did. My previous flat iron pulled my hair, had uneven heat, and just didn't wow me. I used it hough until it died. This one has quick even heat and glides smoothly through my hair with not one single hair being pulled. I love the fact that the plates "float" giving even better control for whether straighening or giving a soft "bend" or full out curl. I also appreciate the temperature control. I followed the suggestion by starting at the lowest heat seating. I realized that I needed to bump it up just a little, and it is exactly where I need it for my hair type. Silky smooth!
I'll admit, I thought it was a phony at first despite ALL other factors being completely authentic, only because it was catching the ends of my hair and snagging them insanely, which led me to believe the plates weren't actually floating, which isn't in this items description. So I did even more research! By pressing on the plates I found that they were floating plates, but just seemed to need to be broken in. My house is very cold, so I'm not sure if that affected anything, but I pressed on the plates (unheated and unplugged, of course!), and tried to break them in. I then tried using it again and it was perfectly smooth. I sent my sister pictures and she couldn't believe how smooth my hair looked. BEST STRAIGHTENER EVER!!!
I absolutely LOVE it! It heats up super fast, has temperate control and glides right through my hair! It usually takes me 15-20 minutes to straighten my hair, but this one has cut that time in half! Best I've experienced
I had read reviews and watched YouTube videos before purchasing the hsi straightener but I was skeptical when I seen how small it was compared to my larger straightener. But it does the job perfectly. I have thick coarse hair and it made my hair so shiny and healthy looking. I didn't ever think a 1" plate could handle my thick hair but it did better than any other straightener I've had. Right down to the ends it glides off smoothly.
