The Zeiss Batis is a truly wonderful portrait lens and a beast in low-light conditions! The lens is in great condition fully working with no faults. It mounts smoothly onto the camera and communicates correctly. The focusing ring is smooth and easy to operate. There are some miniscule chips on one edge (see final photo)(Please note this is a used item. Don't mess about - this is the 85mm to get
Super sharp to the corners, even wide open. Micro contrast is exceptional. Fly by wire focus ring has a lovely smooth feel, though a little imprecise-feeling when slow focussing manually, but focus-peaking and zoom on the Sony A7R2 makes this a non-issue. Autofocus is plenty fast. Closest focus distance is pretty poor compared to some, but hey, it's an 85mm lens and I absolutely love it - so I forgive this minor inadequacy. Ideal for portraits and (if you like short telephoto) a good walkabout lens for street and general use too. Sounds expensive, but once you own and use it, you'll be amazed at what great value it really is after all. Wholeheartedly recommended. Stop reading reviews and buy the flippin' thing already :).
