Effective Protection for Young Plants
The cloches have proved to be very good value as they are sturdy and will protect young plants during the worst weather. The adjustable top allows you to control the temperature inside the cloche and provided it is anchored down, using special metal pegs, it will remain in place even during the most spectacular storms. The only downside is that the cloches tend to steam up, even when fully open in hot weather, so it is difficult to see what's going on inside and you also have to make sure you water the plants carefully through the apertures at the top or they may dry out. It is best to use a low pressure hose or a watering can without a rose to ensure the water goes through the hole at the top which is quite small. I didn't want to keep removing the cloches for watering and churning up the soil. I expect to be able to take them off my plants in a few weeks when they are fully established and stronger. I liked them so much that I bought five packs in total along with the metal pegs. They should last for years if used and stored with care.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very handy
This is just what I need to protect some of my herb plants in 12 inch pots on the patio. They are very lightweight so need holding down. If you use them on the garden they have small holes round the edge to take a small round tent peg or similar.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
