Double bill of British dramas. In 'Wings of the Morning' (1937) a young couple's forbidden marriage ends in tragedy when the husband dies. Decades later, his widow, Maria (Annabella), returns to Ireland with her granddaughter to revisit her past. In 'The Golden Madonna' (1949) former teacher Patricia Chandler (Phyllis Calvert) has her life turned upside down when she inherits an estate in Italy. When she accidentally throws away a sacred community relic, a painting of the Madonna, she must redeem herself with the local villagers by setting out to retrieve it.
