Best SLC i have used to date, June 2018

This is the Best SLC i have used to date. This product has Very good flow with a fantastic Finish. Easy and fast to mix with a whisk on a good drill. A little more expensive, but worth every penny in saving time and quality of finish.

    Good price but hard work

Good price and finish but very difficult to use as it does not self level like a Latex product. The instructions are nonsense - 5 litres of water will not mix a bag of this product. It needs enough water to make it thin enough to run, but too much water will make it too weak. PVA bond or SBR must be applied to the surface immediately before applying the compound. The correct mix still needs troweling so don't dump a full tub on the middle of the floor and expect it to run and level. Start on the perceived lowest corner and work backwards towards the high point troweling as you go. If the low point is at the egress you need to start on the furthest corner, back troweling towards the high point as you retreat. You have to work a high speed with one person mixing and one troweling. If you have more than 6 square metres or using more than two bags. Must use mixing paddle - hand mixing will not work and takes too long between bags.

  • Easy to use

I am a female OAP & I found this product easy to use. You must follow the instructions as indicated, ie exact amount of water. It is easy to make up small quantities. Example: 2kg leveling compound to 500ml water, 1kg 250g leveling compound to250ml water. Must stir in gradually to the water. I made up small amounts because you only have about 30mins before it starts to to go hard. I only wanted to fill in between ceramic tiles to make floor level ready for putting down self adhesive tiles. I would recommend this good value product.

  • Does not self level

I've used a number of these products over the years. This doesn't self level, you will need to trowel it flat which many will not have the skills or time to do. Only use this if you are capable of a good finish with a plasterers trowel. I've never had an issue before and did not expect to have to skim coat my floor!

  • Everbuild 708 Self Level Compound

I had only a small area to level, which went from about 20 mm at one end to nothing at the other. I estimated That I needed about half a bag so put half the specified amount of water in the mixing bucket. Estimating half the contents of the compound was a bit problematic so I added 5 or 6 trowels at a time to the water, stirring as I went, until the bag felt about half used and the mix felt thick enough to set but runny enough to self level. Not particularly accurate, and much slower than mixing a whole bag. When I poured the mix onto the floor it spread out easily enough, although I helped it with a float. It started going off quite quickly after that but I had just enough time to finish and obtained an excellent result. If you mix quickly you should have plenty of time to apply. Good stuff

  • Carefull

Everbuild is quite good except watch how it levels. I found that I had to finish level with a trowel which left marks in the floor. It didn't matter too much for me as it was only in my workshop.

  • Easy and effective

Pours and handles easily, and can also be filled out with fine sand for greater depths and amounts. Waterproof and frostproof so great for outside too. An effective and straightforward levelling compound, even for a first-timer like me.
