Expand-It Brushcutter - compatible with many 25mm shaft strimmers
This brush-cutter attachment is essentially a Ryobi Expand-it accessory, but at about half the cost. However my strimmer is a Spear & Jackson model which appeared to have the same universal shaft (25mm; 4.5mm square drive) so I thought it was worth taking the risk to see if it would fit (hoping that it would be compatible with my model). It did turn out to be an exact fit (actually requiring a small amount of sanding to the internal diameter of the fitting collar of my strimmer) and works perfectly, so should hopefully it fit any other strimmer with the same universal shaft size. The beauty of the brush-cutter over a string-strimmer is that any tough bushes, twigs, roots etc don't effect the performance, where the string would break if using the strimmer - highly recommended.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Excellent attachment
I already had a handy multi-tool which has this attachment. I found it so useful that this is was purchased so I could have two separate blades mounted and ready to go. Fitment is so easy just insert click and do up the clamp. Anyone that hasn’t got one of these should definitely buy one. I have spent many years in the garden machinery and tool hire industries. Works but noisy
Fitted my Flymo multi-tool motor and was used to clear brush behind my partner's back fence. Whilst it did the job, after a few minutes it became quite noisy. The blade had bent and was rubbing against the guard. I bent it back again with pliers and it worked ok again. In my opinion, this does the job pretty well and it much cheaper than the 'genuine' manufacturer part; however, I suspect that the metal used for the blade is not of the same standard as the 'genuine' part. However, I still feel it was value for money and it looks like I can get and fit a spare blade if I need to. Useful garden accessory.
