Bought these for my husband. Researched various brands, took on board lots of reviews and scoring, and opted for this set. He is very pleased with them, for his first and starter set. His intention is to eventually buy a set which are much more costly, when he has become more experienced and these will do the job perfectly until then. A couple of them will require sharpening before use, but that's not an issue. These were cheaper and in some instances much cheaper than some of the other sellers and websites they are available on. Definitely recommend.

They are HSS chisels at a low price. They show up "sharp" but not really fit to work on an project. I tested them on some green wood and they struggled with that, but after a full sharpen and a reshape on the roughing gouges they do ok. I would not recommend buying these unless you are prepared to sharpen them before use... I also wouldn't recommend buying a lathe unless you have the means to sharpen your chisels. Note: The box they came in make fire wood look good
