Product Information
The Jews have long lived in Britain. They arrived with William the Conqueror and were accountants to his son, William Rufus. Here are tales from the time of Joseph of Arimathea arriving in Cornwall through to the present-day tales being told in communities across the country, all incorporating the wit and magic of a rich and varied culture successfully integrated into Britain. AUTHOR: Liz Berg is a professional storyteller whose repertoire mainly consists of Jewish stories from both the Ashkenazi and Sephardi traditions. She also tells British folk tales and around the world. She lived in Israel for five years teaching English in state schools and further education, studied Judaism and Jewish/Christian Relations at Selly Oak Colleges, Birmingham under Rabbi Dr Norman Solomon, and taught Judaism at Birmingham University's Continuing Studies for a couple of years. She now lives in Liskeard, where she founded the Liskeard Storytelling Cafe. 30 b/w illustrationsProduct Identifiers
