The purpose of an inner-hub or sub-platter on a turntable is to sit beneath the main platter (where the record sits and rotates) and propel it round. The sub-platter is directly attached to the motor by the drive belt on such players, and it sits within an inverted main bearing, lined with a lubricant to aide friction-free rotation - reducing resonance and drag.
Very pleased with purchase, ordered a new belt as well, however it does not fit my Debut SE III. Original belt back on, definitely an improvement in sound, everything seems clearer. Vocals, drums and bass sound very crisp.
Excellent addition to my project debut carbon evo turntable! It adds more low end to records and there appears to be less background noise than with the standard plastic sub platter in my opinion
