A good buy but with a few reservations
I have bought several of these units to house a fairly large number of books I have. They have proved quite effective for this purpose as they are fairly deep and can easily take two rows of books - one behind the other - on each shelf. While not ideal for display, this arrangement nonetheless makes a lot of sense for storage purposes if you have limited amount of space where you live, as you can effectively accommodate twice the amount of books in the same space. The units are also quite strong and easily carry the weight of a lot of books (or anything else) without buckling. Some people might not go for them aesthetically, but this does not bother me particularly. I think they are very good value for money. My one word of caution would be in regard to putting them together. They can be a bit fiddly to construct and the printed instructions - while of some help - are not perfect. (There are a few videos on Youtube which are also helpful). You will need some basic tools such as a rubber covered hammer and flat head screwdriver as well as thick protective gloves to wear, and a small step ladder would also be good for when you have built up the unit beyond a certain height. It is also a good idea to lay some protective covering on the floor if you have a scratchable floor to avoid any scratches to say wooden or laminate flooring.The units can be put together by one person working alone (I did), but it certainly would help to have another pair of hands to help.out also. After you have put one of these units together you will find putting other ones together much easier, but the first one may prove a bit of a challenge. I don't know whether I would recommend this for someone without any DIY experience or confidence.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

an inexpensive storage solution that does the job
The shelves are an inexpensive storage solution that helps me organize my storage space and get boxes accessible and up off the floor. They are flimsy compared with other shelves I've used in the past, but strong enough to do the job they are rated to do. The wooden particle board shelf tops make smooth surfaces on which to place boxes, containers, and other objects. Time will tell if they can stand up to wear and tear. once built very sturdy
Arrived in good time, packaged well. At first sight thought I had made a mistake as looked very flimsy, my daughter put it together and on completion it was very firm and sturdy I am pleased to say. Looked a bit fiddly to me whilst my daughter put it together but the finished result is good. My garage now looks tidy which was the reason for buying them. Very good for the price paid
Bought two of these and thought little of them during assembly . They appeared too flimsy. Once assembled I fixed to wall with two screws (not supplied). They actually made a sturdy shelf unit. Assembled 2nd unit with ease. To be honest I was so pleased with result that I ordered two more. Very happy with results and will order again. Very poor quality, extremely difficult to put together with instructions which are next to useless - you'll need a great deal of patience and commonsense to put them together. Good value for money, some parts awkward to assemble initialy. satisfied with the result
The racking assembly was ok but some of the pressed tabs were not formed properly ( not all of them) so it made it difficult to insert the shelf supports propely. it was resolved easily with help of a screwdriver blade to open them up.
