First time diassapointed by FACOM !
As i am a really FACOM fan for more than 20 years now, driven by their life time warranty, unbeatable quality, good ergonomics (most of the times), good service and with a price to match all the previous, that tool really came as a surprise to me. The ergonomics sucks big time, the handles curves are not to match the palm of a hand, the grip feels strange (at least) added to that, when fully opened, most people will need a second hand to catch it good, provided my palm is relatively large. If you adjust the grey knob to make the handles opening narrower, then from the other hand you get inadequate opening on the blades side, which means you cant get the full leverage by putting the desired object to cut, as close to the pivot point as possible, thus making that setting obsolete. On the top of that, even if you decide to set the knob to a narrow setting, just after a cut or two, it slides to the other position by itself !!! Its poor design do it so with the help of the friction inside the tool mechanism (i believe). The quality of the synthetics are something i never saw in FACOM until now, they feel like those on the cheap Chinese toys i buy for the kids. The blades, although seem of a good quality, they don't do well in cutting. Thin stuff are sometimes chewed, thick stuff like branches, are almost impossible to cut due to the thickness of the blades. When saw it on the internet i didn't realize the quality of the tool as most of the pics on the internet are not of good detail, but from close, i almost couldn't believe my eyes, if someone covered the FACOM logo and showed me the shears, i would have never guessed its a FACOM.
