Every episode from all three seasons of the US TV drama that examines the early relationship between up-and-coming FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and eminent psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). Happily spending his days lecturing at the FBI academy, Will finds himself called in by Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), the head of the FBI Behavioral Science Unit, to help capture a serial killer who is on the rampage. Suffering from Asperger's Syndrome, Will struggles to control the thought processes that inform his uncanny ability to empathise with serial killers. In an effort to ease some of the pressure on the young investigator his superiors decide to enlist the help of the renowned forensic psychiatrist, Hannibal Lecter, a move which has grisly implications for all concerned.

Hugh Dancy is excellent as the sensitive, empathic manhunter. However, there was too much bloody, ritualistic violence against women for my taste.
Early on, at least, it's Hugh Dancy as the sensitive, empathic manhunter who's the main star. Mikkelsen (Lecter) is a quieter presence as the intellectual leader of a managerie of misfits employed by operational boss, Fishburne, to investigate ritual murders and serial killers. I made it through 3 episodes OK. But then, the accumulation of bloody, ritualistic violence against women, and Lecter's corrupting influence on a potentially homicidal young woman, all became too much to stomach. If you are made of sterner stuff, you may be able to enjoy all 3 seasons of what is a slickly-produced and well-acted drama. 6/10Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
