The 10x eyepiece and three objective lenses (4x, 10x and 40x) allow for magnifications of 40x, 100x, and 400x. These LED illuminators stay cool to the touch even during long viewing periods. The simple condenser with a rotating disc adjusts the lower illumination for enhanced viewing.

Great microscope for beginer at an affordable price
Really impressed with this piece of kit, I wanted a microscope for carrying out beer yeast viability tests but did not want to spend a fortune on one. The Celestron 400 does exactly what i need a an affordable price. The unit is well built and funtions well, the facility to use batteries or plug in transformer provides great versilitity. I was impressed on how sturdy the unit was with the main unit being die cast metal, the other ones I have come accross have been plastic. The only slight gripe I had was the eyepiece fitting into the holder on the microscope was quite loose, there is a groove provided on the eyepiece that looks like an o ring could be fitted there. I have since put a o ring on this to make it a better fit. The unit works fine without this so it was more of a cosmetic fix. Would still recommend as value for money and works well.
