I have this pump connected to an external filter feeding a small waterfall. It has more than sufficient water pumping volume to ensure that all the sludge reaches the filter and thereafter the cleaned water flows into the waterfall sump. I have used a waterproof electrical connector which makes it simple when the pump needs replacing. I have bought Hozelock pumps in the past and they’ve never let me down.

Had an old Cascade 1500 pump for my waterfall which finally packed up (kept fusing the electrical system) so bought this identical model to replace. Very easy to connect up and works perfectly. Have not tried the fountain but the attachments look fine. Compared to other pumps on the market this Hozelock seems rather expensive but I had to buy it as I needed a 25mm screwed outlet.
