Mountain were one of those groups that promised a lot in the 70s but egos, drugs and over dominance by one member (Leslie West) led to an early demise, especially with the fractious relationship with bassist/producer Felix Pappalardi and his troubled marriage added in.
I saw the original Mountain live twice in the UK and both times they were excellent, their studio albums never conveying the same excitement. A lot of live albums have been released in their name but the cream is on this CD pairing of two albums. Originally released separately in the 70s, though only one side of "Flowers of Evil" is live, the studio side containing two of their better songs.
