    Good enough

I needed to cover a large water cylinder so bought two of these to make it work. Four sections were used from the top with two sections tied together and wrapped around the bottom part where the four vertical sections fell short. It doesn't look conventional but it works well. The cord to hold the tops of each section were not long enough so I had to use string, as I did for tying round the sections to hold them tight to the cylinder. The jacket is a reasonable quality which does the job.

  • Most critical review

Average quality but does what it's supposed to.

Its certainly better than the stupid silver bubblewrap tank jackets. These are basically thick plastic bags with fiberglass insulation inside them (x4). On mine one of the eyelets had fallen off which is needed to stop the string ripping the plastic. After the top is tied together you move on to wrapping plastic ties around the whole lot, be cautious as these break easily ! This is a job in which 2 people would make quick work of it, if you have enough space around the tank that is. At £20 its ok for the money as it does its job, however quality control and choice of materials from the manufacturer means it is not worth any more than that.

  • Simple & easy to fit.

Simple & easy to fit, but I have used it on a water feature in the garden to protect it from the frost so I do not have to drain it over the winter.

  • Mangers 42 x 18 insulation jacket - good.

Bought for a 18" cylinder with 20mm moulded insulation already - hence almost 20" diameter. Sufficient jacket insulation to cover it. Known summer gas usage improvement to pay for product in 12 months at current gas prices. Excellent. Had tank NOT had any original insulation, money would have been recouped even faster. When fitting, if jacket happens to cover the tank thermostat, easy to cut a hole in the jacket. The tape provided could have been stronger, although there's sufficient length to double it for tying. Highly recommended as good price as well.

  • GIVE YOUR HOT WATER TANK A DUVET

Gives an overlapping blanket to your tank, great quality and has metal eyelets to secure the top with a supplied lace. There are also a number of plastic ribbons to secure the panels around the tank, all in all a great replacement for an old well worn jacket.

  • Great product, good VFM.

The instructions were very good and I fitted it in just a few minutes. There were a lot of fiddly pipes to work atound, but the jacket fits well and hopefully will keep our water hotter longer. It is very good value for money and the EPC rating on the house we have just bought suggests ve should see a return for our money in a couple of months.

  • A well made product which fitted the tank well.

This apparently hard to source product, no doubt due to the energy crisis, is impressively substantial with a tough plastic outer cover and a good layer of insulating material. It was tricky to fit around a tank with little clearance in places but the four panels enable it to be fed around the back without too much of a struggle. It is tall enough to draw the top together covering the whole top of the tank. The only criticism I have is the lack of loops to enable you to fit the ties around the whole of the jacket properly. It was noticeable that the price of insulation products has risen recently.

  • nasty quality but not very cheap. Not big enough for standard size tank Cannot recommend.

Not big enough to cover the whole tank. Could not tie it up with the very poor tie straps provided. Average quality for a not cheap price. Had to buy another one to do the job correctly.

  • Hot water for longer

I am sure my hot water stays hotter for longer since I installed this jacket and it still lets some heat go into my airing cupboard. Sadly the tank was installed very close to two walls so I was unable to fit all four panels around the tank but I am convinced the jacket has made a difference nevertheless.
