Truly Tulip Red I needed to dye three small kitchen towels that were very old and faded. They started off beige or peach but were now a murky cream colour. I have several tea towels with strawberry motifs so chose the brightest red available for my hand towels. I would have found a machine dye easier as I have used these before but this little sachet required an amount of table salt and a stainless steel sink. Once the towels were washed, still wet and submerged in the dye, salt and water, I had to 'stir' them for 15 minutes. I found it easy to swirl the dye around, picking up and rearranging the three towels repeatedly. Then, after a 45-minute resting period in the dye solution, they were done. I rinsed them by hand and spun them in the washing machine. As soon as the towels were dry, I cut off any stray cotton threads and they looked vibrant, as good as new and ready to use. Waste not want not. Read full review

I haven't used the four dyes purchased as yet but why does each of the four dyes come from separate places rather than from one site and sent in one packet? Gladys Mulligan
