Avalon Filters
We have the Avalon fountain for our 2 cats. It uses this charcoal based filter along with a secondary foam filter around the pump assembly. I have to replace both filters about once a week. the fountain generally makes a nice babbling brook sound, but when it gets to the point where you can barely hear the water flowing, then you know it's time to change the filters. The manuals say you can wash out and re-use the filters in some instances...but I don't recommend that. If you truly love your pets, give them the fresh water they deserve. In our area, the water has some poor filtration from the water department, and our bath tubs and toilets get a rusty deposit in them, so we use distilled bottled water for the cat's fountain. But it still will build up a slime after a few days, so I would never re-use one of these filters.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
