A very fine actor in a great gripping legal series for all to enjoy.
A very fine actor, Martin Shaw, along with supporting cast make this a great set of DVD,s to watch. I enjoyed them immensely as individual episodes but wanted a large boxed version and am very happy with it. Martin Shaw was a kind a generous gentleman some years back when I was a University and helped me out with information about the making of his version of Macbeth which I was studying - he was great and helped earn me a first class degree. Martin Shaw is a great actor and was the right guy to play a judge who has a social conscience and who relishes taking on the establishment. He is also happy to go after anything in a skirt which makes for some interesting confrontations with female colleagues one of whom is his ex-wife and the other his ex-girlfriend. The series gives a good insight into what could be considered a corrupt judicial system in this country. My only gripe is that the copy I bought was a Dutch import in which Dutch subtitles had to be switched off on every disc.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Spoilt for those with hearing problems.
All seemed fine until I discovered that the subtitles are available only in Dutch ,which makes it awkward for those with any hearing problems. There is no mention of this in the sale descriptions - so I would not have purchased this product had I known. I have been obliged to order an alternative version with multiple sub-title choice.
