I am fine with Shinkos ....but, funny story:
I just bought my second. The first lasted about 4,800 miles on the back of my SYM RV250 and it wore pretty evenly (though, in Florida, we don't have curves and the middles tend to go well before the sides). That is probably about average (the OEM, which the Shinko replaced, was bald when I bought the scooter with 5,800 miles on it). Full Disclosure: So, now I've got the second Shinko on for a day or two and I drove to the supermarket in a pouring rain, a woman stepped out onto a crossing about 15' in front of me, I grabbed the brakes. Immediately, the rear wheel locked up. The rear skidded to the left, I low-sided on the right. After extensive post-exit testing (involving my trying to lock up the rear wheel at low spped during subsequent driving rainstorms), the rear has not again locked up. Was it the tire? The price is right
Used on Burgman 400. The dry condition handling is good /no rain in Phoenix to comment wet handling/. The thread life- roughly 7000 miles out of rear tire /not bad for the price/. Where the weakness is- the carcass. I got a nail and plugged the tire. It could not hold the plug. If you compare this tire with the HOOP , you will notice the difference in the tires. BUT you can not beat this price, so for the money it is OK, especially if you intend to sell the scooter. For me - better than Michelin City grip and Avon Viper Stryke , and worse than Bridgestone Hoop.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
