Vortex V-3 Fuel Cap
Overall it is a good product, like pretty much everything from Vortex. They make good stuff, whether it is made in China or elsewhere, you can rely on a good piece from Vortex. It is more money than the “no name” brands, but I trust Vortex and have for many years. As this is a fuel system piece, it has to be good to go on my bike. Not really willing to risk my bike burning down to save a few bucks on a cheap’o piece from no name & company. Installation was a breeze, took all of a minute to put it on. There was a little smell of gasoline for the first day or two, but that has gone away since, maybe the gasket needed to swell? Not sure, but it is gone now. Never A Disappointment.
When it comes to buying aftermarket accessories for my motorcycle, Vortex usually gets my money. From clip-ons, to adjustable rear sets and engine covers, I'm never disappointed with their fit and finish. I bought this gas cap to replace a locked factory cap, which lost it's key, on a bike I had tucked away in the garage. The little things like the lock, and screws are all top grade stuff. The machining is all precise, and everything lined up without any issues. Even turning the cap back to closed always lines up right. The milling marks may look like rough remains from sloppy process, but it's all smooth. The anodizing quality is top notch. I have other anodized Vortex parts that are dark that still haven't faded from UV exposure, even after being close to a decade under our SoCal sunny skies. Superb quality
Vortex is known for their quality parts and this gas cap/base is no exception. The fit and finish are excellent and the styling (although individual to each person) is fantastic in my opinion. The ability to buy different colored clicker locks are a nice touch (I bought blue) but I would also like it if they made different color caps as well (for now it’s black only). Overall I’m very pleased with this purchase.

Vortex keyless gas cap...
For me buying the Vortex keyless gas cap, was a great buy. It not only looks great on the bike, but the function is well worth it. No longer having to pull the key out of the ignition to unlock your gas cap works for me. And for someone who likes having a great/clean looking bike. Great fit, and the lock lever is a great feature.
I put this on my 2017 Yamaha FZ-10 and love it. Just a warning for people with my bike, taking off the OEM is easy, getting the key to release is a pain after removal. Still love the look and functionality of the product. Also it rotates perfectly each time to the lock position with no cross threading.

Solid quality.
It's vortex so quality is good. The cap is fitted and finished well. If I had a complaint it would be that when it's locked, if you soon the cap back against the lock it almost feels too loose. Replacement of OEM cap
I wanted a good quality nicer looking replacement for my OEM cap. The only thing I was bummed about, is that it didn’t come with stickers to put on my bike and you gotta figure out yourself, how to cut your OEM gasket to fit around the Vortex gas cap. You really only need the outside lip of your gasket to seal it as the cap does the rest of the venting and sealing.

Way better than i thought
It's expensive as hell but putting the gas pump into the gas tank, you hear the click, and guess what. No need to try and fill up that last bit. This cap helps you fill up and ride faster. Just why $100 and $10 for a gold switch notch? That's my only reason for the 1 star deduction.
