  • PERFECT for 1.75 fishtail drag pipes!

I have a 2014 street glide with V&H Dresser Dual headers. I bought some 1 3/4" (1.75") fishtail drag pipes on ebay for $100 bucks but they were waaaaay too loud. I decided to purchase too of these baffles to see if I could make the sound feasible on the fishtails. PERFECTION!! See the pictures to better understand the following explanation of how I mounted everything. Fishtails aren't as easy to deal with if you want to install the baffles near the end of the pipe (unless you have some really long needle nose pliers). In my case the fishtails were described as 1.75" but in reality they are 1 7/8 and what I found out the difference means is that they are meant to slip onto 1.75" header pipes. I was nervous that baffles would spoil the unique fishtail sound but decided to give it a shot because I learned from past experience that the further away from the exit end of pipes that you install baffles, the more "blap" sound you get on decel...which is the main reason I love fishtails. Oh so happy with the results...wow. What I did to mount them was hammer them into the end of the header pipes, perfect fit, and then slipped on the fishtails. To hold both the baffles in place and hold the slipons in place I was able to simply use the single clamp and they are both held on solid and securely. The sound is absolutely perfect. At idle and low throttle, the pipes have a gentle rumble and I'm able to creep out of the neighborhood without frustrating the neighbors. When I give it some throttle they come alive and are very much louder than any big name manufacturer's pipes, which I love. The brap sound when you let off the throttle or downshift and decel is so perfect that I couldn't even believe it. So to anyone wanting to install drag pipes of any sort I highly recommend using the end of the header pipe where the slipons mount (versus the tail end of the slip on) and then just use single clamp to hold it all together for a perfect sound. For $150 I have a totally unique look, sound, and performance is just as good as V&H monster rounds.
