Useful bit of kit.
Very useful does the job easy to follow instructions. No marks for ease of use
The tube I got were different to those in the picture, so not sure if this applies to all of this product. The instructions tell you to add 3cc of the soil sample then top up to the next mark with 0.5 cc of test solution, the problem is that there is no 3.5cc mark, the next mark is 4cc, so you have to eyeball it, which is not really a satisfactory way of doing things.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good value alternative to professional lab tests if many samples are required .
Kit seems to work well, and can be stored in the box it arrived in. Good for the price
Bought this kit for a handful of field tests. Easy to use and easy to follow instructions. Seems to work, all tests have a colour change which look very plausible for my ground. Professional gardener said the results look like what he would expect to see. Only minor issues, there are nowhere near enough materials for 40 tests, looks more like 10 to 20 max. Also, the powders for pH and nitrate don't dissolve very well. I had to shake vigorously at least a dozen times for over a minute each and still some of the powder is settling. this kit is simple to use and if the instructions are followed it gives results that are easy to read and interpret. The kit could be improved by adding a bit more information on the specific fertilisers/chemicals required to adjust pH, levels of P,K and N. Good value for money.

Veg problems
I am taking 6 soil samples from different areas of the garden. Initial results tally with the yellowing leaves and poor veg crops experienced. High pH, low Nitrogen for starters! The kit is easy to use, plenty of instructions and guidance. I used distilled water as our tap water is high in lime. Will treat each area accordingly (plenty of advice on RHS website) over the winter and retest in Spring.. only minor quibble is that there is no 0.5ml mark, so simplyadd the relevant liquid drop by drop and estimate by eye, seems to work fine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
