Product Information

This solar panel heater from Vidaxl can increase the warmth of your pool by up to 10 degrees. Water passes through the solar panel channels, heats up, and then recirculates back into the pool. It will work with most types of pool pump and is easy to install and use. The pool panel measures 620 cm by 75 cm, and is made from polyethylene.

    Cheap and cheerful pool heater

    All other pool heaters I have seen have been very expensive, so this was a snip and worth a punt even if it proved not to be very good. The actual heater works fine and there is a measurable improvement in the pool temperature, even though it has only about a quarter the area that is normally recommended. The fittings are, however, quite difficult to install, one end being extremely stiff to persuade to lock onto place. The installation instructions are not very clear and recommend for a roof-mounted installation like mine, that they be fixed with rigid fittings to the pipework. The fittings that came with it were only for a hose connection. I was unable to get the correct fittings from the supplier (they sent me wrong ones and then didn't respond to any further communications). So I had to use short pieces of hose, which don't seal very well onto the fittings using hose clips. I suppose you might say that you get what you pay for.

    . Good value , does the job

    good customer service. good product , strong and resiliant and does the job. it is quite unwieldy to manage as it comes in one length of 6meters which is as stated in the description, but not as suggested by the picture , which show two pieces. The instructions are not particularly well written translated but they do the job. Additional pipe and fitting are needed to connect the unit to a pump. if the pump is more than 1/2 hp then a diverter kit is needed to reduce pressure .

    Good so far

    Has heated our pool water up very quickly but we have had very sunny weather. The only issue was connecting from the pump to the mats but tried some 40mm plastic hose and it has had no leaks so far. I’m hoping the mats will last several summers....then I will rate them good value. So far we have had lots of use of our pool in May and for that I am happy with the product 😊

    Solar heater. Doesn't heat as stated in advert

    Solar heater states could raise the pool temp upto 10deg. Had to purchase a high gph 1500 pump to make the heater function properly. Only seems to raise the temp 1-2deg above standard temp not impressed and wouldn't recommend. 27deg days made no difference sun was beeming for 5 days straight, didnt make no difference to the pool temp. Solar cover warms the water much better

    Solar pool heater panel

    I have a south facing garden so I thought it would be worth trying these to try and cut down the heater bill for my above ground pool, I have put them on top of garage roof and I can honestly say they are a great success, on a sunny day the pool is heatin to about 26 degrees and I have a 16x10 oval pool with 2 sets if pals running,, next year will add another set then pool should warm up more, these are saving me approx £50 per week on heating costs, would definitely recommend anyone with south facing garden to invest in these

    It works.

    I've used the smaller Intex solar heaters previously and they were very effective on really hot days, but they have warped and hardened so I decided to upgrade. My pool is only an 8ft round pool with the inflatable ring at the top. In the, at most, 19 degree heat we had in April it made the pool lovely and cosy. I turned the pump on around 10am and by 2pm it's been a pleasant temperature. Can't wait for actual summer to see how good it really is and break out the bigger pool. Time will tell if it lasts longer than the last mats (2 summers)
