A disappointment from a brand I've always admired
I have used various Sykes Pickavant tools over the years and been impressed, but this one has been a disappointment. The materials are certainly of a very high quality, but the shaft the knurled ring is fixed to is so tight in the tool body that it cannot be turned without clamping the body in a vice first. As a result it is impossible to fit the tool onto a stud and rotate the shaft by hand or with a spanner (as you should be able to do) so the knurled ring butts up against the stud ready for use. Even disassembling the shaft and lubricating it had no effect - the clearance is simply too tight, and it severely limits the utility of the tool as a result - not to mention making it an absolute b*tch to use.

Brilliant!
I had 6 exhaust studs to remove in a confined area with no room to get a conventional stud removal tool in place to get the studs out. This tool is compact, extremely good quality and simple to use. I cannot recommend this tool highly enough, I would never have been able to compete the job without it. Sykes Pickavant is a trusted name in the automotive industry and this tool certainly lives up to its well deserved reputation.
