Gentle, soothing and effective.
I have a pony who suffers with hyperkeratosis, (a build up of scaly skin on the backs of her knees and the fronts of her hocks) it is a life long condition and can result in sore and bleeding wounds. The old name for this is Mallenders and Sallenders and the old treatment was clipping the legs and applying pig oil and sulphur!!!! A much kinder way I have found is to use baby lotion to keep the skin soft and supple and wash occasionally to remove excess flakes of skin with this LOVELY SOOTHING GENTLE shampoo, then re apply baby lotion when the legs are dry. Job done, no pain for pony, so, happy pony, happy me.
