Not bad little alarm for price - but poor battery life.
Works well. I have modified it (multiple door contacts and remote alarm sounders), good cheap alarm for garage etc.
Only real downside is the rubber buttons can stick (get trapped in the plastic surround) when pressing them, so you have to watch out for this when disarming. Haven't had long enough yet to test battery life (my previous system used a PP3 9v which would last 2-3yrs, so I am hoping to get similar life from the AA's this uses.
I can also confirm that the door contacts are of the standard 'normally closed' type (i.e. when door is closed/magnet is near the reed switch, contact is closed. It opens when magnet is removed) Making it easy to add additional contacts 'in series' for multiple doors etc.
Dropped to three stars as battery life fairly poor - only a few months before having to constantly replace alkalines. Also, buttons become less responsive as batteries get low - very weird but happened each time and replacing batteries the keypad became more responsive . I gave up in the end with these cheaper alarms and eventually joined the external system to the main house.
